Belarusian Institute for History & Culture (BIHC) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organization of citizens who have come together to study and promote the history of Belarusian nation and its culture.
Ideological platform of BIHC is Christian tradition in the development of the culture of the Belarusian nation. All leaders and members of BIHC are believers, supporters of rapprochement of the Christian churches of different denominations.
BIHC was created by the voluntary association of editors and authors of the almanac «Dedy» and the activists of the youth organization «Right alliance.»
BIHC was officially registered on the 28th of March, 2012 (обычно пишут was officially registered March 28, 2012) in the Republic of Latvia. Legal address: Riga, street Praulienas 2-28, LV1021, Latvija.
BIHC is a legal entity, has its own seal, stamp, form, and other account details.

BIHC acts on the territory of the European Union (Schengen area) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
BIHC operates under the Law of the Republic of Latvia «On Public Associations» and the Charter of the Institute. The leaders and members of BIHC follow the rules of international law, the Charter and decisions of UNESCO.
The superior body of BIHC is Annual Meeting of the Institute. Governing body of work is the management. Director of the Institute is Victor Evmenenko, Master of Economic Sciences. Scientific Secretary is Anatol Taras, Professor.

Goals of BIHC:
To achieve the main goal of its activities BIHC takes the following steps:
— Collects scientific information that is necessary for the study, preservation and reconstruction of property (monuments), history and culture of Belarusian nation;
— Disseminates scientific knowledge about the history and culture of Belarusian nation from antiquity to the present day.
— Develops international cooperation in the field of study and promotion of Belarusian history and culture.
To solve these problems BIHC uses the following methods:
— Organizes the presentation of new publications, lectures, courses, debates, conferences, seminars, meetings, competitions and other activities the main purpose of which is the promotion (popularization) of Belarusian history and culture.
— Publishes the historical almanac «Dedy», monographs, collections of scientific and popular articles, posters, calendars, creates videos and audio recordings.
— Supports cultural and historical projects, as well as historical and cultural non-governmental organizations (including clubs of historical reconstruction).
— Promotes archaeological and other scientific research in the field of history and culture of Belarusian nation, reconstruction of destroyed historic monuments, museums and the creation of the memorial complex.
— Nominates prominent researches in the area of history and culture for awards, certificates, public and community awards.
The idea of establishing the Institute shaped up during our work on miscellaneous separate projects. We realized it makes sense to combine all of them within a single structure. Due to the fact that this idea is a result ofpractical work, we have certain achievements in seven areas:
(1) Publication of books in the series «Hidden History» (leaders A. Taras, A. Stepanenko);
(2) The publication of the historical anthology «grandfathers» (headed by A. Taras);
(3) Creation of video course of lectures on Belarusian history (directed by V. Evmenenko);
(4) Maintenance of the web-site (directed by V. Evmenenko);
(5) Public lectures in the cities of the country (directed by V. Evmenenko);
(6) Creating a gallery of photographic portraits: — modern figures of Belarusian Culture (supervisor O. Shagulin) — reconstructions of the ancient inhabitants of Belarus (the head of A. Belousov);
